In the aftermath of torrential rains on Tuesday night, the Patipukur underpass, near Kolkata's Balgachia, found itself submerged, causing substantial traffic woes for commuters. The underpass, known for its susceptibility to flooding, was inundated, leading to the closure of one lane and severe disruptions during peak office hours.
The relentless downpour wreaked havoc in various parts of the city, with the road from Patipukur underpass, spanning from Laketown to RG kar, succumbing to the deluge since Wednesday morning.
This submerged roadway forced authorities to divert traffic in both directions into a single side of the underpass, inevitably leading to extensive traffic congestion in the city. This impacts the daily lives of countless residents whenever rain descends upon the city.
